Why You Need to Plan a Canadian Vacation Right Now

Traveling is always a good idea especially if you’re an American. And as always the destination is always top on the list of place to visit, according to the Los Angeles Times:

“The Canadian currency is at a 12-year low, pushed down by that country’s slow economic growth and dropping oil prices. In the United States, meanwhile, the dollar rallied last year and has continued to remain strong. One U.S. dollar gets you about 1.33 Canadian dollars.”

That exchange rate, coupled with the fact that it has some of the most scenic places north of the American border, and the fact that it’s ranked in the top ten on the World Happiness Report 2016 Update are reasons enough to visit. Vancouver, Whistler, Victoria, Winnipeg, Calgary, Toronto, Montreal, and Quebec have long been top tourist spots in Canada, and now is the time to plan a trip to one of them.

Traveler Confidential took a look at some vacation costs for Canada and here’s what we found on one travel booking site. For one person, a week in Vancouver from Los Angeles, costs between $800 and $3,500. This includes airfare from LAX and a three-star or higher hotel. Meanwhile, a week in Montreal or Quebec from New York City runs you between $700 and $3,000. The fact that you can get a one-week vacation, including airfare and hotel, for under $1,000 might entice many U.S. travelers.

The best way to start searching Canadian trip deals right now is to visit one of the many travel booking sites like Skyscanner, Kayak, Orbitz, and Priceline. Using the new Google Destination tool can also help, since it lets you set your own price right off the bat. And, don’t forget to sign up for airfare alerts on Airfarewatchdog. The site alerts you every time there is an airline deal on a place you want to visit.
