ROUND-TRIP TICKETS TO HONG KONG LESS THAN $500 FOR AMERICAN TRAVELERS
No, it’s not Black Friday, but it sure feels that way after spotting a super sale over at Delta. The airline has slashed prices on round-trip airline tickets from six U.S. cities to Hong Kong. Cleverly spotted by The Points Guy, some tickets are as low as $459.
The deals are for the following cities: Newark, Houston, Chicago, San Francisco, Denver and Washington, D.C. Travelers must take their trips this month or in May, and must book their trips through Orbitz. Tickets for dates this month are going fast, but we spotted some tickets for specific dates in May for Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport for $459, for Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport for $459, and for San Francisco International Airport for $498. All great deals.
These rock-bottom prices might get many more American tourists visiting this East Asian territory. And, that’s exactly what the Hong Kong tourism industry needs. It’s suffering its worst downturn since that SARS epidemic hit the city more than a decade ago, according to the South China Morning Post. Tourist numbers dropped 2.5 percent last year alone, compared to 2014. The Hong Kong Tourism Board is even predicting another 1.8 percent dip in tourism by the end of this year.
